It's currently about 1.5/2 inches long and I want it to be a little shorter in the front because I'd like to part it on the side. It doesn't look right parted being as long as it is, though. But at the same time, my hair is such a texture that if I cut it any more shorter on the top towards the back, it'll stick up. So I was wanting to leave it the same length everywhere except the bangs (or whatever they are) and cut the bangs about half as short as they are.
Will it look weird if I do that? I hope I explained everything all right.

Explain it fully to your barber/hair stylist. They will know how to taper it to make it look right.
