You told him that flowers were not necessary, so now you have to tell him otherwise. Guys don't know these things...they will listen to you and do only what you tell them to do. I would call him and tell him that you have been talking to other people and it seems everyone will be wearing wristlets and boutineers. Ask him what color he would like for a boutineer so it matches his shirt he'll be wearing and then mention the color of your dress. Hopefully he will then buy you a wristlet, and you should deffinately buy him a boutineer as well. You are lucky to be going to the prom with such a good friend. He should tell his girlfriend that he is taking you to your prom because that is the right thing to do, but that is his business, and you are not doing anything wrong by attending your prom with your friend. Have a wonderful time, those are memories that will be with you for a lifetime...

Your date is supposed to get you a corsage or wristlet and you are supposed to buy him a boutonierre.

So he has a girlfriend? If so, why are you going with him to the prom and she is not? I would be very careful about this. If you have her blessing and aren't romantically attached to the guy, it's probably OK but you don't want to make your senior year hell because you *stole* her man. Be careful.

Aloha :)

If both your BF and GF are in college and they know you each are going together (as friends?) then no, not cheating. If they don't know or it's not as friends only, then yes - you'd be cheating.

He already asked you about flowers, you said not needed, so don't expect any - don't send mix message to men like that - there not that good about reading your eyes instead of hearing your words.

Previously, it was mandatory that the male purchase BOTH the corsage AND the boutoniere. However, these days it is MUCH more common, due to gender equality, that the girl purchase the boutoniere and the boy purchase the corsage (or if they're the same sex, they purchase the appropriate piece for eachother).

first: if his friend knows you are going together to the dance and has given her consent then it is fine. if not, then I wouldnt personally go with him out of respect for his friend.

just let it be, most people want flowers but asking for them is impolite (in my opinion) he asked, you said no. you might next time make it clear that you would like some but its not important and up to him, since he is spending the money.

it would be a wonderful courteous gesture to give flowers, but in the end its not really up to you, he will or he wont. it just depends on him.
i'd try not to make it a big deal, afterall, there are more important things.

Make sure that he isn't going to buy you flowers, and get your parents to buy them. This is often done anyway.
You said no, and he probably listened.
Oh, he has a girlfriend? Oh, dear, I hope he is taking you just to be nice, not as boyfriend/girlfriend. Someone always tattles
to the girlfriend, so beware.
