Limewire Trouble Shoot or just Vista excessive control?

I've recently purchased a dell computer with window vista home preium. Everything on it is great, but just that whenever i try to open my limewire or redownload it my cable stops working. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what's going on here and also offer some solutions. Much thanks.

Vista and limewire can be made to be compatiable, you can add a port for limewire. It is most likely your firewall that is not allowing your connection.
