i'm often indecisive, but i always appreciate a lady's opinion. i have a few tattoos and am in the market for a few more. i'm considering a couple kanji characters(i'm currently in japan, don't worry), but can't decide where to place them. give me some feedback. and if you don't like kanji tats, what do you like? and where? bottom line-- what do women who like tattoos consider hott on a guy?

Kanji are always nice, but I see too many of them. I also see too much of the tribal stuff. It's getting over done.

What really appeals to me are Celtic patterns, especially a upper arm band of Celtic intertwining lines. Either that, or figure out something to do with your ethnic background. You want women to come up to you and ask, "Wow! What does that mean." And your answer will be something poetic and intellectual, of course. I had a friend who was going to put an entire DNA molecule around his arm. Yours should reflect your area of interest, with a hint of mystery. Hence, the, "What does that mean?" response.
Intellect has always attracted me more that looks. Even if you don't think you're an intellectual, make it mysterious and a conversation piece. Any thing that sets you appart from the rest of the human race! But not something dumb.
Tattoo artists are really good at copying images. You can bring in any thing that appeals to you. I have 2 Celtic beasties and an Egyptian cartouche. I'm a gal, but I still get a lot of attention for those: "Where you in Egypt? What does that mean?" Of course I used hieroglyphs that had personal meaning to me.
You could do the same with other things. Whatever you decide on, remember that skulls and blood dripping from a knife, OR a sexy female are NOT going to attract women! Guys get those for other guys as a way to show off how tough they are. Forget the toughness factor. That's just a alpha male dominance thing.
You sound too sensitive and caring to be that idiotic. Mystery. Go for the mysterious conversation piece! ;-)

Might have been more helpful if you told us what kanji characters you were thinking about...I mean, what's the meaning behind the characters? What words do they represent? With limited information, I'm thinking top of outer arm by shoulder/biceps or a spot I prefer, the inner forearm between wrist and elbow on the under side. My husband has one in that spot on each arm.
As far as what 'women who like tattoos consider hott on a guy'....I can't speak for anyone else, but I definately know that I love tattoos...and as long as they are done well and look good that's all that matters. When the ink has meaning behind them, I find it more appealing. But I don't care if it's a grim reaper and skulls and death and destruction everywhere, a remembrance tattoo or something you drew up to signify a certain time in your life or whatever...the particular image doesn't matter to me as much since it's not MY ink...but if the man I loved felt so strongly about something to get it permanently inked into his skin, then that's damn sexy!

I strongly dislike tattoos of any kind on the neck. Kanji looks great on a guy on the upper back, centered between the shoulder blades but just below the base of the neck.

Someone that I know has a kanji tatoo on the back of his neck that looks great. A great place for any kind of tattoo is a place on your body that you think has good definition and that you like to show off

If you have a nice toned upper body a shoulder blade or back tattoo is always good... I really dislike leg tattoos though- I think it's the whole leg hair thing ;) Kanjii characters are pretty hot, I think the only kind of tattoo I dislike on a guy are cartoon/popular character tattoos. Good luck !

if you don't know what you want then you shouldn't get it and definitely not to impress a woman. honestly, just having tattoos doesn't impress me. quality tattoos impress me but that doesn't seem like what you are looking for. i would rather see someone with a tattoo of a plate of pancakes if it was done amazingly than to have some manly piece of junk that was chosen just to be impressive. heck, maybe i'll get a tattoo of a plate of pancakes! or maybe i'm just hungry right now.

The sexiest place for me is on the upper arm. Arm bands are a real turn on for me. I also like tattoos on the underside of the lower arms and on the chest. *JMO*

i love guys with tattoos. any tattoo, as long as it looks good.

i think if being in japan means a lot to you, you should get a sleeve depicting your favorite moments. im a sucker for sleeves.

i also like them on the sexy creases...actually i like them anywhere (except face and head).
