That was part of the law. It is NO LONGER in effect!
Ephesians 2:15 Through his body on the cross, Christ put an END to the LAW WITH ALL ITS COMMANDS AND RULES. He wanted to create one new group of people out of the two. He wanted to make peace between them.
Colossians 2:14 He wiped out the written Law with its rules. The Law was against us. It opposed us. He took it away and nailed it to the cross.
Galatians 2:16 ...No one can be made right with God by obeying the law.
Galatians 2:21 ...What if a person could become right with God by obeying the law? Then Christ died for nothing!
Galatians 5:4 Some of you are trying to be made right with God by obeying the law. You have been separated from Christ. You have fallen away from God’s grace... The ONLY verse that talks about falling from grace, and they did it by trying to follow the law!
Jesus said he didn’t come to destroy the law, but to fulfill it. (Matt 5:17) The effect was the same. Once fulfilled it was no longer in effect. The very next verse, Matthew 5:18, looks forward to the time when the law would be set aside. "...Not even the smallest stroke of a pen will disappear from the Law UNTIL EVERYTHING IS COMPLETED." IF the law were intended to be permanent, the "UNTIL..." clause would be meaningless.
On the cross, Jesus' last recorded saying, "It is finished," is an important milestone. Because of Jesus life, Satan had been defeated. The law was finished and would no longer stand between God and mankind.
The 10 commandments along with the rest of the law ("commands and rules" from Ephesians 2:15) were "set aside" when they were fulfilled or completed at Jesus' resurrection. We are no longer bound by that law.

Read Leviticus 11 please.
1And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them,
2Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.
3Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat...Keep reading the Whole Chapter.
JESUS NEVER EVER DECLARED ALL FOODS ARE EATABLE! They don't show the scripture don't believe it. The Devil wants you to break God's Commandments, your not saved by keeping it, True, but you show God you love him, by keeping it.
Don't believe people that say, you can eat anything!! Ask me to explain scriptures they use to say you can eat unclean foods.
Below is a Prophesy, hasn't happened yet.
Isaiah 66:17
They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.
Pigs don't have liver, they carry sicknesses. Even, Doctors will tell you to not eat it.
Lobsters are bottom feeders, I am give me a break, they even look like a BIG Cockrouch!
Also, Catfish, they clean the bottom of the sea, all the nastyness. God doesn't want you getting sick.
Also, the bible tells you not to eat Blood, another reason, so you don't get sick.
It also says, Don't eat animals that are found dead. You don't know why they died? You could get their sickness.
Also, Eagles and other animals, eat dead animals, so they can get their sickness and pass it to you if you eat it.
All of God's reasons for not eating theses animals are proven to make sense today.
Do you really want worms from eating a Pig. I wouldn't recommend it.
"A pig's digestive system-unlike a cow's-is not designed to filter toxins from its system. These toxins work their way through the pig and are deposited in the animal's flesh-especially in its fat deposits. The pig itself is actually able to sustain very high levels of toxins in its system. As such, it can eat just about anything. So much so that it has actually been reported that in an effort to keep feed costs down, pig farmers will purchase garbage, such as rotting meat and vegetables from restaurants, to feed their pigs-and the pigs can be sustained on it. However, there is nothing in the pig's digestive system, or the processing of the meat, that removes these toxins." quoted from below website..

All meat is Holy. AC 11:9 "The voice spoke from heaven a second time, `Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.' 10 This happened three times, and then it was all pulled up to heaven again.
Any food need only be consecrated by prayer.

Look at Leviticus 11 for the clean and unclean food. The people of Israel were just coming out of 400 years of slavery and God was giving them instructions on how to be a holy nation. He gave the laws to Moses and he passed them to the people. There were laws on just about every aspect of life. The kosher laws were for the protection of the people. God wanted them to be set apart from other nations as they were HIS people. If you are not Jewish, these laws do not apply to you unless you want to keep to the kosher rules. They are sometimes difficult to follow. Hope this helps

I'm not sure of the exact verse, but I wold imagine you can find most any dietary law in Leviticus or Deuteronomy.
But, just so you know, no meat is 'unclean' anymore. Unless you happen to be an Orthodox Jew. : )

first off, the verse you are talking about is in the old testament and was given to the jews only. Because the jews were Gods chosen people, he wanted them to be set apart from the rest of the world.
that doesnt pertain to us today.

Check out Matthew 15. Jesus had a lot to say on this. Matt. 15:11 says, Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.
