He's one of the main modern advocates of Jonathan Edwards. Many of Piper's writings reflect an indepth knowledge and appreciation of Edwards. Piper's a popular pastor of a church up in Minnesota. I agree; he's well respected. I had lunch with him once, and he was pretty cool.

He is the author of " 90 minutes in heaven". He died in a car accident and visited heaven. He was prayed for and he came back to life. His teachings are powerful.
PS: I might mix him up with Don Piper, I do not have the book in hand now.
