Really, the best thing you can do it treat the symptoms as they appear. Drink lots of water, take Tylenol if you get a fever or feel achy, use Sudafed to un-stuff your nose, and Halls to ease your cough. Cough syrup can be useful as well.

Unfortunately there is no real treatment for a cold, as it is a virus, and with over 2000 strains of the "common" cold, it is impossible to treat.

Sorry for the bad news, but the up side is, colds are usually self limiting. 5-7 days is usually the longest they last.

Sometimes your body feels sick . This is what it feels like when yur body feels invaded by a foreign substance, virus, poison, allergy etc.
The symptoms you feel as the flu or cold is just what it feels like when your body is putting up its defenses. So sometimes you are really sick and sometimes it is a flase alarm but yor body doesnt know the difference. To help it find out if it is a false alarm and kill a cold instantly, use any over the counter allergy medicine with anitihistimine. This will stop the symptoms if they are false.

Try Zicam. It's an over the counter nasal spray that GREATLY reduces the severity and length of a cold. You need to use it as soon as possible once you think you may have a cold. Works great for me!

Lots of fluids and honey and lime mixed together.
Make sure you wash your hands very well and be careful when other people are coughing or sneezing, although sometimes it's unavoidable.
