I only have one W-2 for 2005 but someone told me I have to file 2005 first before I can file for 2006 and I know I qualify both years for IRS's free file. Someone pleaseeeee help :[ I REALLY would appreciate it!!

You do not have to file the earlier year first, although it is a good idea to do so, as a rule. With just one W-2, I would go ahead and efile 2006 and do the paper return for 2005. You can print the forms off the IRS website. If you are not going to itemize, have no children or other dependents or no higher education expenses I do not think you will have much difficulty completing the form.

right, too late to efile 2005. pick up a copy of turbo tax basic 2005 on ebay and file 2005 by paper. then free file 2006.

You can't file 2005 taxes on free file, and can't efile them at all - you have to mail in the forms. Only the current year's returns can be efiled.
