Do you think he was rewarded all of those Earthly riches because he wasn't going to get any in Heaven?

The rules were different back then (BC). I would assume because he was a good faithful Jew most of his life, and did great things for Israel/Judea that he would be in heaven. I assume that his father David had him circumsized on the 8th day, he keep Kosher, observed Sabbath, etc. I don't know what the exact policy on backsliding is/was for Jews. Since he would have been a Sadduccee, the fact he build the temple, and provided sacrifices should have "paid for" his later transgressions (pre-paid indulgences?).

This is all speculation, I'll know once I get to heaven.

I'm sure King Solomon is still going through repentance and sorrow for his sins of idolatry. Nevertheless, the Lord Jesus Christ will make the determination at the judgment seat.
