After 20 minutes of asking someone to leave my house and being disrespected, I physically tried to escort him out, he resisted and grabbed me. I hit him 4 or 5 times he tried to fight back. It was broke up. Am I legally ok?

If in Florida then I believe so................was told very clearly that if all attempts to do it the nice way failed then, you could aim and fire..............but they would have preferred that you call them.....often just the picking up of phone to dial is enough to have them leave.

I would JUST to be on the safe side, call the police NOT the 911 number and make your case, ask one of them to pop around and that way you get your side across before having to deal with this numb nutz trying to say alot of other stuff against you.

Regards

In the future if this happens again just call the police and advise them you have an unwanted guest in your home who is refusing to leave.
You ask if you are legally ok. It depends on the person you struck. Did he file a police report or anything?
If you are in your own home, and have repeatedly asked someone to leave (hopefully there are not a lot of witnesses for him) and you politely tried to escort him out, by say gently grabbing his arm and he strikes you or resists you can defend yourself and I doubt anything will come of it.
I would either have a third party friend contact this guy and try to work this out so neither of you have to deal with any legal headaches.
Who knows..maybe you guys can become friends again. Just dont invite the guy over.
GOOD LUCK!!

Unless you were "Struck" first and/or when He grabbed you it was in such a manner as to force you to fear physical harm, then you should be O.K.. But, If their are witnesses that state you struck him first, your Done. Where the question begins is, you state you hit him 4-5 times, so in some States that could be considered Excessive Use Of Force and you could potentially be Jailed depending on the amount of physical damage you did to him. However the Fourth Amendment States the King Himself 'Cannot ' break the entrance to your home without Probable Cause. Your in the Right as long as the altercation was a "Necessary Evil".
GOD BLESS/GOOD LUCK!!

He will own your house soon and you will be sleeping on a park bench.

If you tell someone to get off your property and they refuse you can file a complaint against them for trespassing. Now he will file a complaint against you for assault.

About the only thing you can do now is to shoot yourself.

You should have called the police, they would have removed the person and you would not have any doubts.

I don't know why didn't you just shoot him and get him out of the way, of course I am being funny here, even if it isn 't funny.
