My doctor prescribed me some amoxicillin, an antibiotic

The pain is still there, do you think it is okay for me to take an aspirin or something? .

You could take something for the pain, however I would recommend Tylenol. Works a little faster, easier on the stomach, and can also help control the mild fever you probably have.

You could also try to take some Sudafed or Actifed. They are decongestants, and will help ease some of the pain by draining your sinuses. Less pressure, less pain.

Be sure to take all of your amoxicillin. The doctor probably told you already, but all of your antibiotics must be taken for the infection to be cleared up.

Definitely take an asprin. Also, try irrigating your sinuses. It's kind of gross, but gets a lot of the junk out. Take some table salt and disove it in your bathroom sink. A couple of teaspoons. Fill your sink with water. get a bulb syringe from the drugstore and fill it with the water. Then, this is teh wierd part, but it works. Put your head over the sink and tilt it to one side. Now spray the water up your nose gently until it starts to come out the other side. Then flip your head over and do the other nostril. Do it a couple times on each side then blow your nose really good. All the presure in your face will be relieved. i heard about his on NPR and tried it and it works.

The pain is probably due to the pressure from the sinus. I rather have a Long Island Ice Tea.

the pain you are feeling is due to the increased pressure in your sinuses. what i would suggest to relieve the pressure is to put hot water on a basin place a blanket or a towel over your head and try to inhale the steam. this can help alleviate the pain without taking any medications.

we shouldn't be very dependent on medications as this could lead to liver problems with prolonged and improper use.
