My sister used to do that stuff all the time...never knew if it worked or not for her.
She'd walk around the house with toothpaste all over her face and I'd make fun of her all the time...lol.
I tried it a few times and it didn't really help with me. And sleeping with it just got me into a mess.

Actually I was just reading an article in the doctors office the other day and no, toothpaste does not work. Many years ago toothpaste use to contain some ingredient that would minimize the radish or pinkish color of acne but now (10 years later) there are not any toothpaste that contain that ingredient anymore. So if I were you I wouldn't use it.

Even if you did that, you should continue to use your proactive because proactive (or any other acne medication) isn't effective if you start and stop using it. Using toothpaste will dry out the pimple for a few hours, so it is less visible. You only want to spot treat, not spread all over your face. It doesn't actually make it go away. It just hides the blemishes.

Toothpaste only aggravates your acne. Nothing will heal a pimple overnight. The best way to treat mild acne is by using gentle cleansers and possibly 5% benzoyl peroxide cream.

Toothpaste simply brings the pimple to a "head" so you can pop it. That is not the correct way to treat acne. You can end up with a horrible blemish. Stick with your Proactiv. Save the toothpaste for your teeth.

While it took little less than two months for me to really see a difference, my acne, blackheads and whole lot of other skin problems I had such as eczema had completely cleared! It was totally amazing...

No, its fine to do this, be aware though that adding water won't neccasarly protect you from drying out your skin. Mint toothpaste is very useful for a quick on the spot treatment overnight, but the only catch is sometimes the skin around gets dry.

i've heard of it but i never tried it because my cousin-in-law minored in cosmetology and i asked her about the toothpaste myth and she said it doesnt work and just makes ur skin too dry and worse.....and if u do it too much or put too much toothpaste on, ur skin could peel off....so i would say yes this is bad!

yes, it works when I used to do it..but beware some ppl have had their skin burned b/c of the toothpaste....Soap actually works better...dab a lil soap on that pimp and leave it overnight for a few nights.
