Junior prom is only one month away, and I don't know if I want to go, because not only do I not have a date, I can't really dance, either. It's mainly the dancing part cuz I can always just go with my friends. How do I learn how to dance by prom? I'm generally a self-conscious person too, and my reputation at school is more like...academic/hardworkingstudent with no life. I guess I'm a bit afraid of what other people would think even though I shouldn't? Please help!

Hunnie the most important thing to do at prom is let loose & have fun!.
If you really wanted to go take dancing lessons.
If not then just get out there & let the music take control.
Go with the beat.
Everyone is going to be so busy dancing themselves they won`t even notice if you mess up a little.

Don't be afraid to be an academic. Just remember that even academics let loose on occasion. Why don't you watch some MTV or videos and try to mimic the moves?

well, ask one of your friends to teach you how to dance.. simple as that im going to prom too. well good luck to you. be confident. i know that judgement o others can change you but ont worry about it cuz prom is about you..
