The word is defined as a female canine animal, especially a dog.
Then you have your offensive and slang definitions of a female person which refer (either as a noun or adjective) to being unpleasant or difficult and sometimes sexually promiscuous; for a verb form, objecting or griping.
Men called this (SOB) are viewed as rude and nasty. The word is also used for men in "prison" meaning they are sexually passive. The list goes on.
Our culture has changed this word tremendously and used it to their liking.
