although goopy Vaseline is a great moisturizer for severe dry skin. Try putting it on at night using a good amount of it and buy some night moisturing gloves to cover so it doesn't get on your sheets. A cheaper way out would be just using socks :-).

Definitely drink your water. Use rubber gloves for doing dishes or wet work, even taking laundry from the washer. Try Cornhusker's Lotion, or Udderly Smooth Udder Cream. Wearing the cotton gloves at night is good, and you can put the lotion, cream, or vaseline on before you put on the rubber gloves, also.

The ointment/cream that "thewilds01" was talking about that farmers use on the cows is called "Bag Balm". It's stinky and smelly but works well. You can do a search for it online but I think Vermont Country Store has it. Also, like the other posters said, wear rubber gloves when washing dishes or doing anything with water like washing the floor or cleaning the bathroom. ALWAYS put hand cream on after washing your hands!! I do this all day long.

I have that problem every winter too; my hands get chapped and start bleeding a month or so into winter. This year what I did was put Vaseline Ultra Moistrurizing Lotion on my hands--not just every day, but every 30 minutes or so for a week, and slowly but surely, my hands healed. Now I just have to apply it once a day and they're fine.

Every night before you go to bed use vaseline and wear cotton gloves. Soon your hands will heal. Continue to use lotion during the day.

Drink lots of water. Before you go to bed, wash your hands in warm water, put your lotion on and then wear cotton gloves to bed. During the day, don't wash dishes, clean, etc. with bare hands. That should help. Good luck.

Before bed put vaseline on them, and cotton socks over the top. Should have you fixed up in a few days.

Vaseline and cotton gloves at night. It feels gross, but will help and won't burn.
