Colds are caused by virus,
Coughs come from any irritant that may be anything, including a bacterial or viral infection.
Ice water causes cold sensations . . . unless it is contaminated (like mountain water where the animals have been going to the bathroom in it)

I drink ice cold water all the time and it does not cause a cough or cold for me. But I guess other people it maybe different because my boyfriend tends to get a cold from drinking ice water some times.

Ice water is not the cause.

But during times of cold or cough, ice water will worsen it.
Be nice to your body, drink hot lemon water with honey.

well it can weaken your immune system but but no not jest ice water it might be germs in the water that will cause cold
