Yes, this is completely normal. If the mother didn't do this, you would have big problems, because puppies are born inable to urinate and defecate. Their mother licks them to stimulate the anus and urethras, which then create excrement. This is completely normal, and should go on until about 6 weeks of age, or whenever the puppies start going themselves.

Sure is, she naturally wants to keep the den clean. How old are the puppies? Is she licking the puppies and making them poop? Are they young and she is just picking up little poops and the puppies aren't really walking yet? Are they walking and pooping / eating food etc? Anything other then cleaning them, and the little poops if they aren't yet walking
you should be there to pick up the poop so that she doesn't need to clean up at all. She'll still try, it's nature, but why bother eating poop if you don't really need to?

Yes, it is normal. It is what she is supposed to do. She should lick the puppies bottoms and make them pee and poop and she should eat it. I know it sounds gross but it is what they are supposed to do. She will do this for the first few weeks. She is being a very good mother if she is dong this.

ya its normal for the mother dog to lick the pup poop. I know it is yucky but it natural

It is very normal, the mother is just trying to clean up and care for her young and keep the living area tidy. Try cleaning it up yourself, so the mother doesnt have to do it-- its normal but nasty!! =) good luck with those puppies!

Yes all dogs eat poop. It's gross but true. That is why I laugh at all the gourmet dog food and stuff, if they eat poop I don't think a dog really cares what kind of food it eats.

yes, they want to keep the surroundings as clean as possible (if your not helping out) daily change the towel in the box.

yes its normal, would you leave your child's waste lying around. Don't discipline her for it, just back off or pick it up first.
