About four months ago me and my girlfriend (we are both 17) were having sex (we live together) and my 3 year old daughter walked in and caught us. We were embarrased and she was stunned. We were doing it on my bedroom bed, on the bed (not under the covers), and with the lights on so she saw everything clear. We told her we were cold because we were naked and we hugging to warm up. I guess she bought it because she has not mentioned it anymore. But has anyone else got caught doing it by your children? If so what was your excuse?

You are a great dad too take on that responsibility... Getting back to your question.. My daughter has also caught me and my husband having sex and she got extremely upset. She asked me what was I doing on top of daddy? I told her that we was playing and she said where are my clothes? I told her that they fell off.. I honestly didn't not know what to say after that.
She was insisting to find out what was really going on.. My daughter was 3 at the time she is now 4. We avoid each other because of her because she gets real upset if we are affectionate too each other.. Don't worry, your daughter will get over it, just make sure that she is asleep the next time you have sex.. Although they wake up somehow, this happens too me also, whenever we think that she is sleeping she pops out of no where..

Yeah, my daughter came in and got into bed with us and fell asleep next to me while her dad and I were having sex. We had a lock on our bedroom door and used it after that. Your excuse that you don't lock your bedroom door because of safety doesn't "wash". You can purchase an inexpensive room monitor for your child's room (we had one until she was 8 years old) and when you are finished you always have the option of unlocking the door...but then you're only 17...and prone to making up excuses.

Yes and like you my daughter was three at the time. If you are not comfortable locking the door then you could try closing the door and placing something up against it. eg washing basket, chair etc. That way next time you will hopefully have time to get decent before she can get into the room. She is also old enough now to be taught to knock before she comes into the room.

We have four kids. We lock our door. There's nothing wrong with it. I have no idea what kind of emergency would happen that you'd need it unlocked. If we have our door locked and the kids wake up, they'll try to open our door and we hear it and can stop what we're doing and handle it.
I'd be more concerned with how a pair of 17 yr olds have a 3 yr old and why you're having sex now.. but whatever..

I can't believe you'd be embarrassed about much, I mean you admitted to being 17 and have a 3-year-old daughter. I realize you don't want to lock the door, but what harm would it do to lock it for 30-45 seconds?

we keep our door unlocked for emergencies as well, but locked for a few hours (on a good night) when the kids are already sleeping and then unlocking when you are done is not going to cause a catastrophic event. So even though its not the answer you want to hear....LOCK YOUR DOOR.

lol by reading what you wrote your a kid crying out for attention (mentioning the age of you, your gf and your so called daughter and the whole situation and how your added extra detail on how the real mother left is just a bit too much) yeah you sure are young and hey lock the door its not that hard to open it when there's a so called emergency) now who here agrees with me....! ( i mean if this was a true situation asking for help no one Will be revealing their age apart from the child's age and the situation on the whole mother thing)

I haven't, because I'm only 14, but my teacher's kid has walked in on them. I know, it's awkward that I know that, but w/e. She'll probably remember it for a couple of years then forget it...

that's why we wait until the kid are fast asleep at night, even then we still lock the door.
