This question is for AP/Honors students...

I am just curious if you guys have more than 8 hours of sleep?

I read perhap Time magazine and it states that around high school ages need at least 10 hours of sleep...

I'm wonder is it possible today? With our busy schedule, I find it difficult to going to bed to have at least 10 hours of sleep...

However, I managed to get about 7 hours sleep...

My next goal is to get 8 hours of sleep now...

Any of you guys able to get at least ten hours of sleep?

If not, how many hours do you sleep daily?

I'm sure that you guys participate in sports, clubs, etc...it is another reason why I ask you because being so busy...less time for sleep you know?

Comments, suggestions, anythin'...let me know!

Thnx!

I was an Honors Student in High School and am still an Honors Student in college, and let me tell you, you need to develop good study and sleeping habits now, or else you are in for trouble. I worked so much harder in high school then I had to, and I regretted it. I get an average of 7-8 hours of sleep now, and I got about 6-7 in high school (I also had a job). You have to learn to trust your intellegence, studying 4 hours for a quiz is not neccessary. (I actually knew one of the valedictorians who did that!) Don't fall into the habit of pulling all nighters either! It is much better to set aside 30 minutes to 1 hour daily about a week prior to the exam, you will do much better on the test and be less stressed. Good luck, and try to hav a little bit of fun every now and then!

I'm taking 2 honors and an AP this year along with 2 other academic classes and an art. I don't think I ever get more than 8 hours of sleep during a school week. I usually take a nap when I get home for about 2 hours and then when I go to sleep for the night I get about 5-6 hours depending on when if I can fall asleep and if I have a late day, which occurs one time a week and I get to school 45mins later. I usually get 9-10 hours of sleep on the weekends tho. I think most of my friends who have similar schedules get about the same amount, just around 7-8 hours.

Some days I do finish my homework early but I've just gotten into the habit of going to bed late which is really bad. If you want to go to bed earlier try finishing some homework at school or on the way home. I know if I really wanted I could get my homework done earlier, but I like sometime to myself so I don't get as much sleep as I should.

I take two AP classes and two college classes(afterschool) in addition to my regular classes(which are not easy) Even before I had trouble getting 8 hours, so much for 10 hours. Now, I get about 7 hours of sleep mainly because one of my AP classes starts an hour earlier than when school starts(7;00) If you don't have extracurriculars that last until 8, 9 pm, you should have not problems getting 10 hours of sleep. But it really depends how busy and difficult your schedule is and how well your use your time.

I'm in all Honors classes in High school, I play varsity lacrosse for my school, I'm heavily invovled in ROTC, talk to my gf most of the for an hour or so and I can still get that much sleep most nights. Occasionaly I get a lot of hw, but it's worth it.
I get to school at 6:30 get home from pratices at 5:30ish and eat/do homework/shower and after all that I just chill and sleep.

I choose to sleep only six hours a day. My homework is actually easy. It doesn't take long. I go to sleep late because I watch Law and Order.
