've been given a lot of bullcrap from my ex so I am not inclined to believe many people and their stories lately. Today I was supposed to hang out with my guy friend, and we were getting really close last weekend and made plans to hang out this weekend. Today we were supposed to hang out and we talked about it earlier this morning, then he texts me an 1 1/2 hours later after we were supposed to meet. He says that he's in a lot of trouble and that the police are there. I asked him what happened but he said that he couldn't talk. I love this guy and he's told me wild stories before but he's usually right about them so I don't see a reason not to believe him. I am just wondering if I should believe him now; like maybe he made up the story to get out of seeing me, which I don't know because he just could have ignored me or stood me up. Help.

Umm...getting into a lot of trouble with the police sounds bad. Perhaps he was in trouble and it wasnt the right time for him to talk about it. I suggest try getting into contact with him again and ask about his situation. If he's being truthful, he'll let you in on it and apologize about not being able to make it with you guys' plans and he'll be the first to try and reschedule it. I don't know, you'll just have to wait and see and feel with your instinct.

If you have no reason to belive that he has lied to you in the past why do you think that he's is now? Unless there has been something that the two of you have been through that makes you believe that he has lied to you then take it for what it is until you hear otherwise. Don't jump to conclusions about this situation then.

Um, with you being nervous because of you ex; having a hard time trusting and such , do you really think it is wise to get involved with a man who is so unreliable. I myself love a "little" drama here and there to spice things up, but too much drama will get old very fast. With this man's "wild stories" you will never feel comfortable completely trusting him, and without complete trust... it is not love.

You'll just have to wait and see. If his crazy stories are usually true than maybe, otherwise sounds like b.s.. I agree, why do guys make up ridiculous stories to get out of seeing a girl. Like we're stupid.

You are gonna have to wait to see if it proves out; it may be 100% legitimate. Although, you may have to reconsider how close you two are going to get if the trouble he's in is going to impact you or the future of your relationship.
