The best wine you can buy is the best wine you can afford that you can appreciate. If you have unlimited funds (or are named Robert Parker and get the wine free) Chateau Lafite Rothschild at $2500+ a bottle. But what's the point? I would try Caymus cabernet. It's bold, but beautiful, not too brawny. And it's $65-$85 a bottle. If you want to learn more about wine, start reading wine reviews (Connoisseur's Guide to California Wine, the Wine Spectator, etc) and buying wine. You don't need to spend a bundle to get a good wine. Both have online resources too. Good luck!
