Dear Readers

I am a fairly normal looking, tall and lanky/scrawny 15 year old. All my life I have had difficulties with relationships, mostly because I don't buy into the whole American teenage concept of casual hookups and stuff... I like people to actually have some substance. So mostly I stay aloof and alone, sharing my thoughts with a select few females who one could only call friends, not girlfriends.

Yet in my orchestra I have met a girl who seems to be interested in the same dimension of relationships I am. She is good-looking and very intelligent, a bit on the quirky side. For example, she often spends breaks in her school's library, randomly pulling philosophy books of the shelves and reading them. Just the kind of substance I desire... but here's the rub:

She's a college freshman. I'm a high school senior.

I'm not exactly sure what her age is, but I know she's at least 17. She's only going there part time. I know these relationships can work other way, but your opinion?

Nothing wrong with that. When I was in high school we had a senior girl dating a junior boy and everyone thought it was great. My husband is six years younger than I am and he is a sweetheart and we have a good marriage, not that you are contemplating marriage--but it is fine to go ahead with a younger guy/older girl relationship (not way older though). Who makes the rules anyway and where do they get off telling us it should be older man/younger woman. Especially when you see these guys dating women young enough to be their daughters, or in Nicole's relationship, great-grandfather. Also you sound like you have a good head on your shoulders. 15 is pretty young to start dating, though, you might be vulnerable right now and if she is not a good person you could really get hurt. Go carefully.

Good looking, and hawt! What are you waiting fer? If you don't want her I'll take her!

Also age doesn't matter, you're only gonna be a senior for what another 4 months? If she's into it, freaking go for it!

and your 15. you have no concept of what a true relationship is. your a dreamer right now with many fantasies. why dont you grow up and wait til your atleast out of high school before you go seeking your desire. she wont even know who you are then. why do you want to grow up so fast?

I think she would be perfect and age doesnt matter. She probably wouldnt mind either if you have a good head on your shoulders so to speak.
