For the food portion... grilled meat and vegetables are good. Also, you might look for an Atkins diet recipe book, because things that are low-carb generally don't involve bread or sugar.
As to drinks... that's a hard one. Tea, maybe?

You need fruit in your diet. Any kind of fruit juices are good. I am on a diet myself. I have lost 25 pounds in 9 weeks. I recommend tea and water. Also as far as food goes, vegetables and fruits are the way to go. My question would be, why all the restrictions? I use artificial sweetners. Try looking up vegan recipes. Also try the whole foods or natural foods stores near you. If you do not have fiber in your diet, you will start walking funny and won't be able to poo.

My girlfriend struggles with her weight and she is always on a diet. She drinks a lot of tea. Green tea is suppose to be really good for you, it contains antioxidants. Can you drink real fruit juices that contain no sugar. What about a crystal light product? Can you use artificial sweetners, they work for lemonade (lemons, water, and artificial sweetner). I have used lemons to flavor plain water before, its okay, not great but something different. I hope this helps. Goodluck. Here's a drink to health....gulp...

If your doctor is suggesting such a change, why is he not sending you to a nutritionist? Is this change for weight loss? An allergy?
For weight loss, I would look at some of the on-line clubs. The biggest loser has one, so does e-diets. They have forums, and guided diet plans. It's all customized to your body & health.
As far as drinks go, I would check into tea. I drink Bigelow's Peach Tea. It's mild and I enjoy it hot and cold without sweetener of any kind. (I can only have so many carbs per day, and I'd rather not waste them on a beverage.)
My dad drinks his own iced tea made with a juiced lemon & orange in each gallon. He uses Lipton- says it's best for cold tea. It's really great-so awesome without any kind of sweetener.

Sounds as though you need a second opinion. You can't do every thing all at once. If your dietary needs are that stringent I would think that a couple of opinions might help you decide on the path for your diet. Educated opinions!!!!

Make your own drinks by mixing a variety of vegetables in a blender. Yogurt makes a good addition to the mix.

Don't do it!Starvation doesnt work... when you starve your body ( I mean not taking in the sufficiont macro nutritrients) your body will go into storage mode instead of burning room. So after your body will store anything you eat into fat.
