Nothing sort of global catastrophy is going to significantly reduce our numbers. We don't have the checks and balances in place to ensure sustainability of our population versus how much food we will need to feed everyone that will be born in the future. At around what year will we have to start eating our own dead?

It would certainly solve world hunger as well as the lack of space to bury our dead.
