My brother can speak 6 languages. He was born in Argentina, so he speaks Spanish, then he lived for 15 years in Sweeden and his sons were born there, so he speaks Swedish very well. Then he divorced, moved to Switzerland and met a German there (so he learnt it), but they lived in Ticino (where Italian is spoken and learnt it too). He then got an important job in England so they moved there (anyway he had learnt English at school). And also he studied for many years in France.
All these languages he can speak really, really well. It is amazing! He is an actor it must be why he is so good at learning languages.

Considering the similarities between the Romantic languages (French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and Latin) and how it would be easier for a Frenchman to learn three of these languages than it would be for him to learn Korean I'm sure more people than you think can speak 5 or more languages.
*I knew girl from Guangxi, south eastern China, who could speak Hakka (her mothers language), her local dialect, the dialect of Guilin (the largest city near her town), Cantonese (the most useful language in southern China), Mandarin (the language school is taught in), and English and she didn't even have a high school education. But she said she wasn't truly spectacular at any of them. Her name was Annie Xiao if that's need to know
