Recently MovieTown raised their prices from $35 TT ($6.00 US) to $45 TT ($7.33 US).

What you think that is to high or just right?
Are they trying to keep certain people away?

Steups..Movietown could hold dey tail. I know I showing my age here but I remember going to the Globe or Strand in down town POS and seeing two (yes 2!) movies for very cheap. Must be like $10TT or something. Rambo AND House Party in one sitting. Sigh, the good old days.

So my answer is NO, Movietown was never a deal...at that price you could go to Globe and have money leave over for doubles and B&M ice cream.

Boy that re-pricing strategy is craziness!
I changed routes and I'm now going to Trincity.
My bf loves Movie Towne but I tell him flatly that I not paying that price hike.
You have to pay a cover chage just to enter the area and purchase from the concession stand and they hike the prices of the food in there too.
There was an email circulating asking people to boycott.
I think plenty people responded to that.

What's good though is that one of the top movie distributors have stopped doing business with Movie Towne because they said that their pricing strategy was unfair...
When Movie Towne decided on the price hike... they alleged increased operating costs.
Ideally... they should have passed on some of the increased revenues to the distributors.
The distributors said they did not agree with the hike because Movie Towne experienced no increase from them or any of the other distributors... that's why you'll notice that there are some key movies which come out that movie towne just never show.
Dream Girls was one of them
