You go to heaven...and with your angels/spirit guides/whatever means, that part of you called the soul will evaluate the life just lived. Some people call this judgment, others think God/Jesus judges you. I think more you evaluate yourself.....you learn understanding by reviewing your life in the viewpoint/shoes of others and how you made them feel. This will give you a sense of how you effected others both positively and negatively. After your review.....I think you decide what course of action will help you progress spiritually.....for the mass murderers....I think they are so ashamed at what they did that they have a long path and maybe they isolate themselves away from others/love.
It is only speculation as we do not and can not understand the complexity of human existence much less our spiritual existence. I wish it were easy, but then, that would take away some of the fun and the whole point in being here, I think, to grow spiritually.

We are souls. So when we die we go back to the ground.
A dead person is unconscious, inactive.Eccl 9:5 For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten.
Eccl 9:10 All that your hand finds to do, do with your very power, for there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in She´ol, the place to which you are going.
The soul itself is dead:
Ezek, 18:4 Look! All the souls—to me they belong. As the soul of the father so likewise the soul of the son—to me they belong. The soul that is sinning—it itself will die.

The souls of people are the thoughts of God.... So not only does your spirit go to heaven, if this was the route you chose, but your last breath and soul goes back to God.
As this happens, usually there is a birth just after wards.... just thinking wondering if perhaps the soul is reborn.
When God breathes things start living, and when that person dies that last breath goes back to God.
God breathes into his thoughts we are born spirit, and that last breath comes back to be inhaled when that person dies.

I believe what God has said in his Word. Those who believe on Christ Jesus go to be with Him and those who don't go to the holding tank of Hell until it's time for the resurrection of the damned when they will be cast into the Lake of Fire.
2 Corinthians 5:6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: 7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) 8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
Revelation 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

For starters we don't have a soul, WE ARE spirit souls, secondly we do not die, the body dies and we, the spirit soul within the body leaves that useless body and searches for a new one in the womb of a female, that is called the process of reincarnation or the cycle of repeated life and death.

okay this is my theory combined from Buddhism and Greek mythology. From Greek mythology is the gaia theory that says that every living thing has a spirit and when the thing dies the energy (spirit) returns to it's source- The Gaia (meaning earth)...and mixes up with all other energy....while a blank energy comes to another living creature when he is born. And the other part is by my opinion that the strongest spirits don't come back to it's source but directly to other living creature...that's why there are some people that can remember their past lives

First -- You are a spirit being, made in the image and likeness
of God....You HAVE a soul, which is your mind, will, and your emotions,,,,and you LIVE in a physical body......
Because of Adam sinning in the garden of eden and allowing satan to take over, Adam and Eve, as well as all of their des-cendants, including you and me, were born spiritually dead.
...and sin came into the world. It is SATAN who wants all of
humanity to perish forever!!! He doesn't believe in free will or choice.....
Because man is born spiritually dead, he has a fallen nature that commits sins....and we do it with our mind, and our will, and usually carry it out via our physical bodies.....
Not willing for us to perish, God sent His Son to die as the ONLY sacrifice for our sins and for our eternal redemption.
If you receive Jesus as your Savior before you leave this world forever, you will go to heaven.
If one dies in spiritual death, cut off from God, and unregener-ated by the Spirit of God through faith in Jesus as Savior, they
will suffer ETERNAL death and judgement in hell forever.
Jesus said, YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN....

My soul will finally come to Jesus Christ. He will ask:" I tried my best to save you. Did you try yours to accept it ?" I will say:"Yes, at least, I tried, I didn't win, but I tried my best. " He will ascend my soul to heaven. I am in my late 30's. I am not perfect, but I believe as long as I try my best to be with Jesus every day and make my soul grow every day, He will open the heaven's door for me. He is the only way. He will forgive my sins and live with me in heaven forever after I die. God bless us all.

I think the 'soul' (taking soul to be the conscious part of the mind) dies with the body. Believe me, I'd love to be wrong, but I just can't accept the notion that there is any afterlife, or heaven, or hell.
