You know how to brew 'pretty good beer' and you want to start a brewpub? Why don't you take the million dollars it would take to open a brewpub and toss it out the window. It would save you a lot of time.

I know brewers who brew excellent beer--and I'm talking commercial brewers--who couldn't keep a brewpub going. There's more to it than brewing 'pretty good beer.' There's the restaurant and the bar amnd all the legal crap with running a business.

If you're interested, find a local brewpub and ask to apprentice with the brewer for a few months. You'll learn how to brew styles of beer that you may not even like, how to brew when you don't feel like it and how to become a plumber/electrician/bartender/negotiator and janitor all at once.
