The only thing that is going to give you relief is for the abscess to drain, so your going to have to see your dentist as soon as possible. For now take 800 mg of Motrin or Advil to help ease the pain and inflammation until you can get in. If the abscess is really bad you should go ahead and call your dentist for an emergency visit, or he may phone you in a prescription for antibiotics and a pain medication and get you in Monday, you can still take the Motrin or Advil with either and we always recommend it in situations such as yours. Good luck and I hope I was of some help.

if u have a dentit thats opened saturdays go first thing in morn, they wont beable to get u in to surgery to remove abses til moday (thats only if the infection is that bad) but they can give u antibiotics. in the mean time take some painkillers and use anbasol its a mild anastetic, i use it for my sons teething, i thought it was just a con but i have my wisdom teeth comin through n its painful so i thought id give it a try and it works wonders within second of rubbin anbasol onto my gums the pain was gone. but seriosly get to dentists as it wont go away on its own

Hi there i had an abscess a few months ago and the pain was awful and yes i do clean and floss my teeth regular apparently my filling had come loose, anyway you need antibiotics as soon as possible. bonjela wont help as pain from an abscess is severe you need either ibuprofen or cuperfren try clove oil as a temporary measure or 500ml paracetamol to ease pain but please see either a dentist or your GP as soon as you can. i hope Ive helped as i know how awful dental pain can be, (hip, hip hooray for the gummy days ha, ha,)

If you can get to an all night store, try to get some Bonjela. Its mostly for sore gums but will help with toothache too. An alternative is clove oil.

Bonjela is a transparent minty gel, not too aromatic.
Clove oil is a very old traditional medecine, but it pongs of cloves. Both work.

you need an antibiotic to take the infection away and a visit to the dentist next... if you need immediate help, go to the e.r.... theyll at least give you the antibiotic, maybe a mild paiun reliever, but in any case , your dentist is the next visit... good luck!! love , the tooh fairy!!!

A massive abscess requires antibiotic therapy.
Once that has done its job, its time to find out
what is causing the abscess to keep it from happening
again.

Call you dentist!
