The answer has not changed. Acts is the ONLY place in scripture where we can learn about becoming a Christian. It presents a sequence of events beginning with the first Gospel sermon (chap 2) and covering many of Paul's trips as he worked to spread the gospel.
As for your question, look at what happenned the first time it came up:
Acts 2:36 “So be sure of this, all you people of Israel. You nailed Jesus to the cross. But God has made him both Lord and Christ.”
37 When the people heard this, their hearts were filled with shame. They said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?”
38 Peter replied, “All of you must turn away from your sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then your sins will be forgiven. You will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children. It is also for all who are far away. It is for all whom the Lord our God will choose.”
"All of you must turn away from your sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then your sins will be forgiven. You will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
In TRUTH the answer is pretty easy...

First, you have to believe in Jesus, and believe that Jesus is the Son of God. How you come to this conclusion is up to you. I found that reading lots of books and doing a lot of research helped me, but other people don't need that.
Second, you have to acknowledge that at some point in your life, you have done things that are sinful. This may include words, thoughts, and/or deeds.
Last, accept that Jesus died for YOU, ask Him to forgive your sins, and come into your heart. Confess that you believe in Him.
That's the easy part. It's living life as a Christian that's the challenge. If you need more help, you can email me, or you can try reading the New Testament for yourself. Romans is a good place to start, and so are the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.).
Hope this helps.

Christianity obviously comes from the name Christ. To become a Christian all you have to do is look deep inside and talk to God and Jesus. (I know that they are somewhat the same but keep in mind they are both different.) Once you can accept Jesus (the) Christ as the one who was sent by God then you are a Christian. From that moment forward live the best life that you can and know that God will never leave you.

One becomes a Christian by believing the gospel message and by receiving God's Holy Spirit who gives people a new birth in Christ. Click on the Get Saved button @ http://web.express56.com/~bromar/ if you want to read the Scriptures.

Well to be truthful and honest with you
you need to be in a private and
quiet place by yourself without any interruption from
family or friends
And you can ask the Lord Jesus to come into your life
and accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and believe
that Jesus is God and that Jesus died for your sins and
my sins as well and you will be a Christian
And please' do not let somebody force this upon you
this is only between you and the Lord God above
and keep it private if you can

Go to a Church. Preferably one of those mega Churches with Jumbo Jesusvision and a Bose sound system. When the collection plate comes around, put all your money in it. Presto chango, you're a Christian!
(Actually, you would do much better to just follow the simple teachings of Jesus. Love God and love your neighbor.)

Wow, people seem to hate Christianity tonight...
I became Christian because someone showed me the historical evidence that's out there. It isn't scientific proof but it is evidence in the since of a court of law. (Eye witness accounts and such...)
