Technically, a dog can start having baths at any age. I would wait until about 4-5 weeks before bathing a puppy however, because the mother usually will do most of it. However, if a puppy at any age has something gross on him like feces or urine, and the mother doesn't seem to be tending to it, it would be better for you to bathe him, because things like that can cause skin infections, which can actually be pretty deadly for puppies under 8 weeks. If they're just smelly and not actually too gross, you can use pet wipes (from any pet store) to wipe them down.

I would suggest no younger than 8 weeks, and if she doesn't smell, try to wait until 12. Puppies have delicate skin that can easily be dried out from bathing. Make sure you use a shampoo made just for puppies- not dog shampoo and NEVER human shampoo, and use lukewarm water, not hot.

The correct time to start bathing your puppy is when mommy stops giving them a bath. This ALWAYS happens when the puppy's start to eat on their own (their poop contains other than moms milk, believe it or not,, mom can smell the difference!!!!)

I'd wait till the puppy is 8 weeks old. Be sure not to get water in his eye or ears. And use a mild soap made for puppies. You can find it at most stores (Walmart, Target, Petsmart, Petco)

Give your puppy a bath only when he smells or is dirty. Be careful not to get water in his ears. I recommend putting cotton in his ears while you're bathing him. Keep shampoo from getting into his eyes too. Dry your puppy immediately so that he doesn't get chilled and catch a cold

8 weeks or older! but if she he really needs it a warm damp, not wet face cloth will do! you don't want to get them wet just clean them. if you bathe your puppy its core temp will go up and then really go down after when it starts to dry this can make your pup really sick by dropping its immune system!
