If he is willing but not able to prevent evil, he is useless, if he is able but not willing to prevent evil, he is useless... if he is willing and able to prevent evil, but does not, he is useless... If he is able and willing to prevent evil, but does not... he is not a god at all.

So why does evil exist? That must mean there is either no god, or he is useless and should not be whorshipped... What do you think?

B/c.. I am not sure is he is real or not, and I don't care... but I'm thinking if there is a "he" at all, he is certainly not a god.

have you considered the possibility that "evil" is only evil to us? that its a matter of perspective and scope?

for example very few people would say that stepping on an ant hill accidentally, would be evil. or even deliberately doing so when you had no choice but to stand there.

yet if some alien race was as indifferent towards us as we would be towards an ant hill, many would jump to call them evil!

read a wonderful line in a book,
"I don't believe in God.
but what I believe in, I call God."

what you mean by God, from the sound of it, I would say does not realy exist, as such.

I'd say rather, that Evil does not exist in an absolute sense, and that neither does good. but that its a matter of perspective.

There is only one reason we are placed on this earth: To be tested.

God created us; destined our lives to be in a certain way. Now; how we react to what god has destined for us (whether it be war, death of a loved one, hardships) is what we are judged by.

We can take the cowards way out and say -- there is no god. But that would hold no logic with it.. Why?

Well there is a higher being; all logical arguments have proved that. Something is always created by something else. But when you walk down that path-- this is created by that-- that is created by this-- you'll never end; which is why it is pure logic to believe that there is one thing that is just there. God?

Might as well believe it's God. Look at it this way:

--- You can believe there is a God
--- You can believe that there is no God.

If you believe that there is a God; you believe that there is an afterlife. If there ends up not being a god or an afterlife; you lost nothing!!!

If you believe that there is no god; you believe that there is no afterlife. If there ends up being an afterlife... you're pretty much screwed.

So you might as well believe in God; nothing to lose if he doesn't exist; nothing to lose if he does.
You would be pretty illogical to no believe in god; there would be a lot to lose if he does exist.

Take a simple Logics or Reasoning class; you'll know what I mean.

Throughout the Scriptures God is presented as Judge. In the Old Testament, the judgment of God is observable through the Flood, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah and the collapse of various nations. In the New Testament judgment tends to occur in eight areas 1.Cross judgment (John 16:11)
2. believer's self-judgment (1 Cor.11:31) 3.chastisement by the Father(Hebr.12:6-11)4. the Bema (Judgmt seat) of Christ
5. Tribulation (Ezek20:37,38) 6. judgmt of Gentile Nations
(Matt.25:31-46) 7. Great White Throne judgment (Rev.20:11-15) 8. Judgment of angels (1 Cor.6:3)

The fundamental principle of divine judgment is that God will judge according to TRUTH, deeds, light, the gospel which reveals human thoughts and motives.

Christians should live their lives accountable to God for their attitudes and actions.

As far as man can remember we have had rules and conduct that we have been judged by. The Lawgiver was Almighty God. He gave the Law not man. History has proven that when man does what is right in his own eyes he self destructs. He becomes more and more evil until evil destroys him. That evil is Lucifer the old devil himself, Satan.
Without God man cannot exist. Jesus Christ is the only righteousness in man.

Romans 1:20 "For the invisible things of (God) him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his (God's) eternal power and Godhead (Father,Son & Holy Spirit) so that they are without excuse.

God says you don't have any excuse not to believe in Him.

Since the beginning of time human beings have sought a way to explain the mysteries of life, and formed a 'religiocity' that centered on 'higher powers' - male and female, sometimes one, sometimes more, usually at least partically in the human image. Today mysterys still exist, and these things we often assign to God, in many names. One short answer to your question from just on thread of thought is that human beings are allowed to make choices, and sometimes those choices result in evil - God does not make evil, nor prevent it, but accompanies us through it none the less. If we choose to follow a more divine path of love, then, evil would cease.... but earthquakes would sitll happen (is that evil?).

God isn't "useless" and he isn't the problem, it's humanity. WE are the ones doing the evil. There would be no need to ask god to prevent evil if people would think about THEIR morals. I cap the word their, because some one had a question on WHO's morals we're following....God's, our parents and etc. I think I understand why you would think that, but what your saying isn't true.

Let's use an analogy, I like those. Let's say I created a product that helped people do things more efficiently (doesn't matter what). My product improved everyone's lives. Now, if people decide and choose not to use my product, because they simply don't want ot be bothered, and hardships occur through life (ie, harder to do things, etc.), is it as a result, my fault that people had these problems merely because they didn't use my product? Did I create the problems that they had to overcome because they didn't use my product? In the same way, God created goodness, and he's not responsible for resulting problems. However, God did give us a free will. He didn't want a whole bunch of automatic robots that did everything at his command. He wanted people who chose to be with him. Man was given the free will to choose to do evil (in the sense of turning away from God). Did God create the action of turning away from him? It's the same thing as me making a snow-cone. Did God create that snow-cone? Well, no, I did, but he provided the means for me to do so. Did God create evil? Well, no, I did, but he provided the means for me to 'do so' (gave me a free will).

Evil is not something that can be created, it doesn't even actually exist in that way. It's only the absence of good, just like cold is the absence of heat and darkness is the absence of light. God gave us free agency and the consequences of our actions of course aren't always good.

All of those subquestions have nothing to do with the word "god".

Evil exists b/c there is no god. We call him god, because it comes from the german word gott which surely has older roots.

Why would you want to prevent evil? What kind of a boring story would life be, without evil?
