For starters; if you are even remotely sane and have the ability to logic; you would believe in ONE single being that just *is*. A being that was not created; a being that doesn't need anything else to live.
Why? Because if you don't you'd be plain unintelligent.
Everything comes from something right? If we keep on that cycle.. over..and over..and over again; we'll eventually have to stop and say that something just *is*. Something is the begining of all of us. The begining of everything; something that can't be done away with; something like god.
The bible has been changed over time; agreed. The quran has been the same thing for over 1400 years; it's protected by God. So tell me how that miricle came about ?
And those "myths and legends" you speak of, try re-reading them. There's nothing mythical about them (put down those greek mythologies; pick up a bible or a quran) All those are things that can be real; can happen again.
There's a little something called destiny; everything that happens to us is destined to happen to us, and god doesn't write our sins/good deads from those; rather from how we REACT to that which is destined.
God brings about pain and suffering to people to test how compassionate other people will be towards them.
There is an answer for every intellegent question.
You just need the right amount of brains to ask an intellegent question my dear friend.

If you were to study the Bible out. You will find some amazing things. It was written over a 1600 year span. It was authored by God and written through men of all walks of life. Kings, shepherds, fishermen, tax collectors, etc. It was written at the Highs, and the lows of their lives. The Bible starts with God, and ends with God. And all through the pages, there is a common thread of who God is, what He can and will do for us, why He does this, what He expects from us, where He is, and when He will do these things for us. If we were to take, lets say, 30-40 people, give them todays technology, and have them write about the same subject, and give them one year to do this, even five years. What do you think that they would come up with? Would they agree on all points? Would there be contradictions? Would it be a hodge podge of theories and ideas? I can say that without a shadow of a doubt that the Bible was Authored by God, and written through men as they were moved by the power of the Holy Ghost!

Well, to start with, you're right, being all-powerful, God could have given us his word pretty much any way he pleased.
But he chose to do things the way he did them. Why? When we meet him face to face, we can ask.
The Bible sounds like historical compilations because the books are just that... verbal teachings passed down for generations (maybe only 1 generation in some cases) and then written down. It's the inspired word of God, not the result of some heavenly dictation.
Of course, the ultimate Word of God, in Christian belief, is God sending his own Son, Jesus to save us and show us how to live.
It all boils down to love and free will. God loves us; God gave free will. Everything else works from there.

Because of the sinful nature of man God, the Father could no longer accept us in his presence. Therefore he put Lord God in Charge of us. Lord God, Father God communicated with each other and us only through the angel Michael, the Holy Ghost. Michael had the power to bring light to darkness and darkness to light without offending God the Father. This is why Lord God wrote our names and deeds in a book.
Abraham, Isaac and Jacob overcame the temptations of Satan, they did not want the "Promised Land" nor the riches and glory therein, They wanted to live in peace and share the land with the inhabitants.
But Moses, was lead to the wilderness of sin, by Satan and Moses succumbed to the temptations of Satan, and he and his people worshipped Satan.
This is why it is written I am the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. They defeated the temptation of Satan (Abraham faltered, almost killed Issac) but Moses nor the prophets did not.
But Moses caused so much damage, Lord God had to call on many prophets to overcome the problems caused by Moses.
The first was Elijah and ending with John the Baptist.
Lord God (Jesus in spirit) used the prophets to talk to us, but when we would not listen they would insert their own words
This is why Jesus Came, he brought the Word of God to us himself. Recall Jesus said the least in heaven would be greater then John the Baptist. But do not be misled, Hell, the lake of fire, the bottomless pit is still in heaven it is the second (2nd) heaven, it is the least in heaven.

Inspiration. What are we to believe, that a book fell from space? People needed to be inspired and then share what they had learned. Take the whole Bible into consideration and it makes sence. Read little blurbs and stay confused. Ancient people were not ancient when they wrote the first scriptures, they were new and cutting edge......

You would think a creature that could create EVERYTHING could write his own biography without a bunch of fanatical ghostwriters. Or at least do something that would demonstrate his existence......This is the part where the superstitious will say 'well, he doesn't want to show himself in an obvious way, because he wants you to have faith'. Which, of course, makes so much sense.

He didn't. Ancient religious texts may contain some wisdom, but ultimately they are creations of men. God wrote his own instruction manual. It can be found in his genuine creations. God's eternal and unchanging laws are the Laws of Nature.

the bible and all other religious writings are myths and legends, just like a superstition.
Why do people believe in the myths/legends, lies/deception of these writings???
because they can't comprehend beyond the myths/legends, lies/deception.

Wasn't it the Ten Commandment that Yahweh personally wrote for Israel not only once but twice. They busted the first set and
lost the second set, so maybe he decided to let them write for
themselves and not waste his time.
