My knee and elbow joints often make loud snap or click noises when I stretch them out. I know that a lot of people have this kind of thing but so far the only explanation I have been able to find about the cause is something about bubbles of gas being moved quickly. But before my joints click, they don't feel right,as though the bone is slightly out of place-sometimes, especially with my elbows, its quite painful - and I have to flick them out to make them click back in.I don't understand what this has to do with the gas bubbles explanation.

My joints have been like this since I was a baby. Sometimes my knees do this strange thing where it feels like they pop straighter than usual and go straight back in and the pain is quite bad.About 3 months ago I actually dislocated my right knee which was very very painful! The doctor told me that my patella is rubbing against another bone, but he didnt say anything about the clicking

I'm really sorry if this is normal and sorry its so long!

My joints do a similar thing. Some times when I'm not carefull, they pop. Usuially though, they burn pretty evenly.

Every once and a while it is consider normal to hear those noises but if it happens often then there is a problem. I have the same problem and sometimes it hurts.
I also suffer from TMJ, but what I'm doing to try and improve my joints mobility is taking 1500 mg of glucosamine daily it helps lubricates them and so far it's helping but my joints are still snapping and making all sorts of weird noises.
I think it would be wise if it persist to go to a doctor that's what I am going to do If I don't see more improvement. Exercising and drink water may also help lubricate and help with the noises.

I have the same problem. I was told by several Docs, it is due to my body structure and weight, a lot of my joints still pop. I am almost 50. No pain just the pop, and they feel better after a few minutes. It is like they are in a bind then after the pop it is released. I have been like this all my life, so I feel there is nothing to really worry about. You may want to visit a bone cracker. I have and found out a lot of my stuff was out of alignment.

I've the same thing. My doctor says there's nought to be done about it by A.M.A. standards. You can take the glycogen tabs offered in the health fad places, but the FDA hasn't approved them.

The doc says exercise helps lubricate your joints. Inactivity is the worse thing you can do.

I've settled on the exercise and fish oil tabs or eating fish.

I hadthis problem for 4 months or so. For me it was caused by lack of exercised after I lefta job. I stayed in bed too long. I forced myself to get out more for walks and all might joints tightened up - to normal.

Your ligaments could be too slack, try asking your doctor to refer you to a physiotherapist.
