Pizza from Lombardi's, Lobster roll from Pearl Oyster Bar, the Elvis from Peanut Butter Company, Soup Dumplings from Joe's Shanghai, Cheesecake from Juniors, peking duck from Peking Duck house (had to put that one in...), dessert from Chickalicious, Donuts from the Donut Factory, Hot dogs from Papaya King, oh and the nuts from street vendors, usually in SoHo. That should be a start...Cheers!

while the food in Manhattan is very good, the other boroughs have very good stuff as well, and its not as expensive.
little Italy in the Bronx has a lot of restaurants that aren't expensive at all.
or city island in the Bronx, which is amazing

if you're thinking street vendor stuff, like pretzels, hot dogs, Mr softee ice cream, etc..i strongly suggest going to the other boroughs.
its about half the price of the crap they sell in Manhattan.

also, if you're into dumplings, there's a small restaurant in Chinatown that sells 5 for a dollar! and they're not small, either.
Chinatown is like the only place in the city that is really really cheap.
i suggest there as well.
good luck
