I don't completely understand your question. Are you thinking tattoo ink contains food substances? They do not. All tattoo ink is made of organic and inorganic properties that are NOT from natural food sources. They are synthesized so if you think you are being injected with ground walnuts or strawberries, that is not happening. There is no such thing as vegetable dye tattoo ink either.

If you are thinking certain foods that you ingest will prevent your child from breast bonding, that is not true either (although ABC vegetables are very gassy for the little one and will cause much discomfort - asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower.)

Downside of tattoo - if you mean while breastfeeding - I don't know of a single tattoo artist that will tattoo pregnant or nursing women. There is an inherent risk of cross-contamination and even though we are all very clean in professional studios, no one wants to take the risk of something passing over the blood barrier into breast milk (while remote.)

i have never heard such a thing!
i don't think pain is a downside to having a tattoo. everything that is worth having is painful in some way. pain is part of the tattoo experience.

there is a social stigma towards people with tattoos. especially visible tattoos and large tattoos. i guess that could be a drawback if you care about what some people think about you.

also, if you don't do your research you could end up not getting a quality tattoo, that is definitely a downside.
not all tattoo artists are talented and it is important for you to do thorough research on artists before deciding to get tattooed. look at portfolios and make sure the artists work impresses you.

No it doesn't but if you are breastfeeding, you need to talk to your dr and your baby's dr.. My cousin is also a Dr and dispelled a few myths for me. Many artists will not tattoo you if they know you are breastfeeding.... I would hold off if your baby is very young and their sole source of food is breastfeeding. The ink cells are too large to get into your breastmilk but pls remember that everything that you are exposed to also goes to your baby. Meaning bacteria and such. It's very important to go to a reputable place that uses NEW needles and autoclaved equipment and such. I studied up on this stuff alot prior to getting my tattoo. Pls feel free to contact me should u have any questions about it.

Re: downside....I have not seen any downside to having a tattoo....not sure what you meant by downside...

Hold your new born and love it while you breastfeed is all you need to do. Your baby will bond to you!! Downside to tattoos.....putting it where it will show later on when maybe you don't want it to. Just think twice and then think again before you get one.

That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. I have 7 tats and I nurse my daughter just fine. There are no down side to tattoos as long as you do not get anything you are not in love with.
