you have to be friends before you can be boyfriend/girlfriend. trust me, i have gone through this with my boyfriend. we went out in 6th grade, but we weren't friends... we just liked each other. then we became like best friends in 7th grade, and now we are going out again! so the key is friendship. because friendship involves trusting a person, being able to rely on a person, and being able to feel comfortable with that person. in order to have a long lasting relationship, your boyfriend has to become a best friend to you. my boyfriend is my best friend, honestly he is better then any of my girl friends, and i tell him just about everything. having a boyfriend, is just like having a guy best friend, but it's better cause you get to kiss, and hug, and have a protector by your side. it's great having a boyfriend - someone that you know will still love you, even if you are having a bad day, or done a mistake. if you want to make a relationship work, especially at an age as young as 13, you have to communicate with your boyfriend, and try to see him as much as possible. i know it's hard to get together sometimes cause you can't drive yet... you can't go to restaurants, or movies by yourself. your options are limited but you have to make the best of it, and you both have to be committed with a 50/50.
