Reasons:
1. Online relationships are hardly ever serious. How could they be? You never actually physically see the person.
2. It's not a relationship. You can't kiss, or actually talk to the person.
3. Many pedophiles now use the internet to get close to teenagers. Something that you might innocently say to someone you THINK is the same age and personality as you, might end up giving a pedophile valuable information about how to find you.
And many other reasons that are very similiar to this. And that's not to mention that personally I believe you shouldn't even be worried about chatting and the like online until you're at least sixteen.

Never. Get a girlfriend out there in "real" life. Someone your age. Online relationships are kinda weird. What if you end up talking to some old guy? GROSS. Why would you want to sit and type when you could actually see a movie or something with a real, local girl, from school or something.

YOU can NEVER trust and TRULY know someone over the net. A few of my friends have all had their experiences with this and every single one every single time ended with the individual either cheating, turning out to be someone totally different, being a NUT, or a combination of the above.

NEVER! If you've never met face to face, and watched her log in, and made SURE her screen name is REALLY what she claims it to be, then how can you be sure she's even really a girl? But, if you know her REALLY well, then about 18.
