as of lastnight, i felt such pain in my lower abdomen, all over not just one side. i have a high pain tolerance but this nearly had me in tears. at first, i thought i was still having menstrual cramps, but it was my 7th day, l was practically done, and I'd never felt pain like this. it lasted about an hour till i finally fell asleep. today i am just so sore, and since lastnight, it is hard to walk upright, bc of the pain. what could this be?

You had a muscular "charly horse" in your uterus and it twisted a little inside you from the shock of the spasm. If you could look inside your uterus, you'd have one heck of a bruise. This happens ever so rarely and almost always during the last days of your monthly. If still in pain, lay on your back, legs up on a pillow, and put a towel that was soaked in cold water and squeezed out across your lower abdomen. After a while turn the towel over to the other side. You should feel a little better, but will be sore in a few days. Id the pain bothers you too much, take some Tyenol and lay down or recline with feet up.

Could be loads of things so the best bet is to see your doctor.

As it's all over and not just one side it's unlikely to be appendicitis.

It could be your bowel, wind or IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). You might need more fibre and water in you diet.

Do you have a water infection, cystitis? You get burning when you have a wee. If you do and the sachets haven't worked you could have a kidney infection.

It could be you have a fibroid or a benign cyst, both of those can cause pain.

Endometriosis is when you have endometrial tissue (normally found only on the inside of the uterus) in locations outside the uterus. When you have a period and shed blood in the usual way the tissue outside the uterus has no way of exiting the body so can cause pain.

As you can see there are various things it could be varying from wind to more serious conditions and these are just the things I can think of off the top of my head. I'm sure there are more explanations and I'm not a doctor so cannot advise you further.

Good luck and the most important thing is not to worry as stress can make conditions worse, especially IBS.

Try the usual hot water bottle, warm bath, hot drink, massage, feet up, bed rest, good book/movie, chocolate, etc until you can get to the doctor.

My daughter had something similar to this last summer. She went to the emergency room where she spent 18 hours and
$12,000. By the end of the day they only thing they determined was that an ovarian cyst (they are very common) had burst. (They could see liquid around the ovary)

I had many ovarian cysts for the 25 years of periods. The hysterectomy was great , all of the pain finally stopped.

you should see a doc. COuld be anything from and ovarian cyst, to a ruptured appendix to gas to a UTI, etc. There won't be a way to know with out lab work and studies.
