Just checking, they are 5 WEEKS as in over 1 month? At that age they should be able to eat softened solid food..... In fact they should be weaned soon.... They need to stay in the litter group but not getting any milk at all from Mom or bottles.

NOT people milk!! It might give them diarrhea and then you will be dealing with dehydrated puppies.
Go to a feed store or vets & ask for puppy milk.
They are probably old enough to eat some canned dog food {or beef baby food, plain, no veggies or anything else with it} and you can mix it {mash with a fork} with pedialyte, available at the regular grocery store in the baby food aisle. {get non flavored}
Put it in a flat plate so they can reach it easily; don't add too much fluid, it should be soft but not soup lol! {have a wet towel handy to wash their faces & feet afterwards}
To feed them, roll up a towel and set the pups front ends on it to feed them, holding the pups in a human baby style can let milk go into the lungs and cause pneumonia so use the towel method or you can use a roll pillow, small blanket, etc.

Cows milk is not dog milk. You can feed them with a bottle if you like and they learn to drink from it but I promise you that cows milk, 1. doesn't have the nutrients necessary to maintain your puppies health, 2. Reduced fat or not will end up giving them the runs. Go to the pet store or local co-op and but puppy formula. You just add water. Works great, gives the puppy the right stuff and no runs. Have fun

If your puppy is not ready to start eating food, even canned food, then you may bottle feed him. You cannot feed your puppy cow's milk. There are pet shops out there that makes special formulas for kittens and puppies. Feed your puppy that formula until he is ready to be weaned.

I have never read so much rubbish ever!!!!
A 5 week old puppy should be eating ON IT"S OWN!!!! FULLY WEANED!!!!! Get the idea!!!!!! PUPPY CHOW mixed with warm WATER!!!!
One correct answer out of twelve,,,,, wow!!!!
ragapple,, glad to see that someone was awake :)
However a 5 week old puppy still needs to be in the litter environment for socialization reasons. You are quite likely going to find that your pup becomes dog aggressive otherwise.

No cow milk is bad for puupies go to Walmart or a petstore and they have milk made especially for newborn kittens and puppies and they also have special bottles.Cow milk will give them diareah and it will make them dehydrated. Also if you need to nurse them now then you also have to buy this sugar gel stuff from the pet store to make sure that they are getting enough calories...otherwise they could get very sick and die.

yes you can.... actually they should have never been taken from their mom yet... all puppies should wait and be raised with their mom until they are 7 weeks at the least..... chihuahuas should wait 8-9 weeks because they are so vulnerable to many deficiencies.... You should actually go and get puppy formula from a pet store... mix it with warm water and feed them once a day with that..... I think that you SHOULD do that just to be safe, they need to be as strong as possible as puppies, to ensure that they are safe to become adults!

You need to go to the pet store and get the orphan puppy formula. Do not give them milk, their stomachs cannot handle it. At 5 weeks they could eat solid food that is moistened. Try to get them to eat solid food.

NO! please do not give the pups any people milk. Their digestive systems can not tolerate it. It will make them sick.
Go to the vet and purchase puppy milk. You can buy it powdered. They can show you how to add water and you can get the puppy bottles there too.
