my 2 year old son i noticed today after giving him a bath has several tiny pinsized bumps all over his arms.. from the shoulder to the elbow maybe just a bit further as well, i didnt see any on his back or legs or anywhere else. they resemble itty bitty white heads but not. they don't seem to bother him at all. i am just curious what it could be, a rash of some sort?

they have no color so i don't expect chicken pox

My son had this. It may be a skin condition called Molloscum, and it sounds like it's in the early stages. My son's was also on his elbows and upper arms. The good news is they are really harmless, just annoying. I took him to the Pediatrician, and they wanted to wait a couple months to see if it would go away on its own. It didn't (they say it normally does) so we went to a Dermatologist who prescribed him a lotion that did make them go away.

My suggestion would be to go the doctor to get it checked out - better safe than sorry. Good luck to you and your little boy!

Could it possibly be heat rash? I would talk to the pediatrician but when my son has a mild skin irritation my pediatrician told me to use a shampoo like Head and Shoulders (which actually clears is up pretty quickly) and then just put baby lotion on it. Good Luck.

If it looks kind of like the skin of raw chicken, it could be keratinitis (sp?) which is common - I actually have it. Speak to the doctor about a special wash to use on it. Or, if he's been in a community pool or something, it could be foliculitis - which is irritation of the hair follicules. Again, a simple treatment for it - speak to the doctor.

My son had those, it is almost like and allergic reaction. These bumps were the only symptom. I adjusted his diet and watched how he reacted until i found out what was causing them. It turned out to be milk and bananas. You may want to ask your family doctor for a safe elimination diet for two year olds. Good luck.
