Which engine? The 3.0L OHV V6, or the 3.0L DOHC 24-valve Duratec V6? If it's with the 3.0L OHV V6, using the closed end of a 15mm wrench on the belt tensioner bolt, pull the tensioner CLOCKWISE (toward the front of the car) and route the belt under the idler pulley just above the tensioner. On the 24-valve V6, believe it or not, you can remove and install the belt without ANY tools, if you are coordinated enough with your hand. Hope this helps.

Do your self a favor and go to an auto parts store and buy a specialty tension wrench They are a flat 12-16 inch bar with a very shallow metric hex socket welded on the end I do not remember what millimeter the hex is. I did two Taurus belts last summer without the specialty bar. With the car on Rino Ramps it's necessary to to place a 1/2 inch breaker bar in the tensioner bracket and jack it up using a small floor jack releasing the tension. Remove the belt and repeat the barn yard process to remount the new serpentine belt. By the wrench save yourself a lot of venomous swearing!
