I'm a resident of Connecticut. After deducting the 401K contributions, how will I calculate my monthly Federal and State tax deductions from the gross amount?

I'm not sure if you are asking what to claim on your W-4, or the actual amount that will be withheld.

If you are asking what to claim, the 1st link below is a calculator on the IRS site designed to determine the best number to claim on your Federal W-4. The 3rd is a link to the CT equivalent (CT_W4). As I read the instructions, you don't have an option on this form.

If you are asking how much will be withheld, the 2nd link is an IRS publication that includes withholding tables. The 4th link a CT publication including the CT withholding tables.
