OK so have you ever played the game Zap?? OK well if you haven't what you do is write a guys name on another persons hand and the time on the other side and then if the person looks at the name before the time then that person has to ask the name out. OK so what you do is you have one of your friends do that in front of the guy and make sure he knows it's for ZAP and if he likes you then most likely he will say yes. I hope I helped! Good luck!

Buy a pkg of balloons. As you blow them up put one piece of paper in each. On ONE paper put your name on it. Make a sign on a poster board asking Will you go to Sadie Hawkins with me? (decorated all cute of course) Fill his locker/car/bedroom....whatever with the balloons. He will have to pop them to find out who asked him.
You could also do a treasure hunt/scavenger hunt at each place he gets a clue to go to the next place. At the last place you have your surprise (a big embarassing display of balloons or something with the BIG question and your name)

the best way is to get him a bit away from his friends. (and yours) and then "just ask him"
say, whats up? and all that non-sense. then ask if he's going yet. if he's not, ask if he'd like to go with you. its hard to blow it off if he's taken, or if he turns you down or if he isnt a very good friend. writing a note isnt a good idea, soooo many things can and will go wrong. or if you have his number (or these days, myspace/email) that might be good too. the key is to get away from other people, so he only has his thoughts to pressure him in (or out) nothing else. and thats good.
hope i helped!

Ask him who he is going to the dance with. If he responds in any way that leads you to believe he does not yet have a date then say firmly with a big smile "Great! So what time am I picking you up? I'm wearing ______, so make sure you match me!"

Have him do a crossword puzzle that'll spell out your name at the end. Make him do a scavenger hunt. Find a way to put a note in a textbook. Have him 'overhear' you say you're considering him.

Try to run into or something. Strike up a conversation then ask him about the dance. Then ask him to go with you.

Write him a note.
That way you'll be saved the embarrassment of him having to say no in front of a bunch of people or him saying he already has a date.
