I don't know about other girls, but I don't like starting coversations. And (in my experience) guys generally don't like a) introducing topics of conversation, and b) they don't like talking about themselves. So... try introducing topics of conversation, and talk about yourself a little bit. Not like, narsisitic (sp?) talking, but just general about you stuff.
