i was talking to him about how i wanted a close relationship and he said that he'd be that for me if we hadn't lived so far apart currently
does this mean he has interest in me? or is it nothing to be excited about

Well... he might be interested... but from what you said... I'm guessing you two live aways away from each other... And if he said he'd be that for you IF he hadn't lived so far apart... well... that probably means he's not interested in long-distance relationships.

There may be interest, but since he said "IF we hadn't lived so far apart..." he put a condition, so basicly the answer is no.
Don't get too excited, and find a nice guy closer to home.

It means he's interested in you, but the obstacle that's stopping him is that you guys live too far apart. Ask him if he really likes you. If he does, maybe he'd be willing to just give it a try anyways.

He is telling you that yes, he is interested in you, but your distance prevents him from being in a close relationship with you. So if you want a closer relationship with this guy, I suggest you move closer to him or the relationship may fall apart.

If you are sharing him with someone else then that is not exactly a healthy relationship, might as well you be friends besides why should you settle for less. Personally my mentality is all or not. If there is not going to be 100% committment then might as well be friends.

A closed relationship means that he wants it to be just you and him so I am guessing he still maintains an interest.

He does have intrest obviously. BUT don't be too exited! He would be that for you IF YOU DIDN'T LIVE FAR APART. I assume you live far apart and therefor he will NOT be that person for you.
