I'm in that situation all the time, but I'm also not at school with the guy everyday, so that makes it a little easier.
Try telling him in a nice way that you kinda need your space...tell him you don't want to break up or anything, but just tell him exactly what you said in your question..."absence makes the heart grow fonder." And you're right, it does.
Hope everything works out for ya.

Tell him honestly, but remind him that still like him and care for him. Perhaps the reason he wants to spend so much time with you is, not only because he likes you, but he wants to make sure that you like him too. If you can ease his doubt about this, maybe he will relax a little bit. It's a guess anyway.

No i have not been in your situation before . But there are some out there you just have to tell them what you think and be done with it .
You need space . We are all individuals you have your own identity , it doesn't mean you have to be with someone 24/7.

Get away from him. I have a sister-in-law who has never let my brother out of her sight. When he was at work, she called him constantly. She pulled him away from all his friends AND family...they are now alone, no friends, no family (we keep our distance). Their two grown sons don't even visit them. They live in their own little world and expect everyone else to revolve around it. Sorry, I've gone on a bit. But I just want you to understand where this insecure, clingy person could lead you. Before my Brother met this woman, he had many friends and was a very out going person...now he is a hollow shell.

I told my boyfriend that we don't have to be entwine with each day and night, and he got the meaning of what i was saying, so he gave me some space. Or tell your boyfriend that you just want to hang out with the girls at school that he can hang out with his guy friends because you two aren't glue to each other.

Maybe by saying something like:
"We dont have to do everything together"
or
"I'm gonna go out with my friends, its a girls night out :D"
or
the best thing is probably just to be honest say something like
"look, i dont want to break up with you, its nothing like that, but i just need some time alone or some time by myself, just because we're together doesnt mean we have to do EVERYTHING together, i love being with you but just like everyone, i just need my own space."
