Can you smell angels? The last couple of days at work, I work on a shop floor with oil smells, I have smelt small "pockets" of something that smells sweet.

I don't have an answer for you, but I just wanted you to know your question is not dumb. I hope it is a guardian angel watching over you.

May God Bless you.

OH! someone needs to find that obscure verse about the smell of roses... it's been too long... I'll surely not find it before this question closes...

I have spoken to those who have had the same experience.

...Phooey... the only one I can find is:
"For we are a sweet savor of Christ unto God, in them that are saves, and them that perish;" 2nd Corinthians 2:15

Hebrews 1:7 talks about angels being made wind...
Hebrews 1:14 talks about angels being sent by God to us...

Sigh, Can't find it.

My only test is that when you experience something like that - does it make you think of God? Or does it take you away from thinking about God? If it draws your thoughts to Him - GREAT! If it pulls your thoughts away - dismiss it.

Enjoy the sweetness!

...Now... if this starts happening a LOT - I'm going to ask you talk to a doctor ONLY because I have a friend with epilepsy. Just before her seizures (mild or grande mal) she smells odd things - or sees weird colors. I just want you to be in good health, hon. Make sure your work area is well ventilated to counter the oil smells.

Peace. --De

No, I don't think angels have smells. It's just the oils that you're smelling.

Isn't it far more likely that you walked into a patch of air containing different smells - like someone's dessert? Smell is just a reaction to scent particles, which move through the air like anything else. If nothing disturbs them, they stay where they are.

People have reported the "taste" and "sense" of angels, so I see no reason why angels cannot be smelt. However, it is very rare and often, people who see (or sense) angels die young or go insane, so I hope you are not smelling angels!

I have often heard that angels and/or Spirit leave behind pleasant smells, usually roses or flowers. I've also smelled my mother's perfume and my father's after shave.

It could be an olfactory hallucination, or it could be something that you just haven't identified. Do you have to smell angels to believe in them?
