No one should be mad at you for having an opinion... and most everyone's faith teeters at some point and time.
Too be honest I don't have a clear cut answer on what I believe. I believe there has to be something more to life then this... something after we die, but I don't know what. There are so many beliefs and they require so much blind faith that it is hard to know which way to turn and who to believe.
All I can say is listen to your heart, weigh what you have been taught and told, and follow what you feel is the right path. In the end it is your choice to believe what you want to believe in.

nothing wrong with having an open mind... just don't open your mind to the point your brains fall out.
Do a lot of reading. I'm 38 and I still have a "shakey" faith. We always go through periods of doubting.
An important thing is to be honest with yourself. Give yourself a couple of years of studying (and even that is probably not enough) before you make any life altering decisions. Meanwhile, just trust God.
By the way, I'm a christian, and have gone through many times when I questioned my beliefs, at the same time if I look at every other belief system out there, well... they're all a mess. Muslims base their faith on the teachings of a pedophile, and there's no way I'll ever convert to that mess, Hindus are a big mix of pantheism, eastern mysticism and lots of FEAR (superstition). The Bahaii faith is a joke that is trying to take all the faiths however incompatible they are and somehow mix them together into some peaceful concoction. The truth is that none of these mix very well.
Oh, and now there's Atheism and humanism... I've had my share of that. It all sounds so logical (to the brainwashed mind), but the fact is they don't know. A lot of people lately believe that religions are the cause of war and hatered in the world... well, I grew up in a communist country, and believe me, atheists are just as capable of hating as any other religion on earth.
Take your time, and learn to distinguish pseudo-science from the real thing.

Aaron, I'll never at all be mad at you for being an open-minded individual, because even Jesus says in John 5:39: "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me." I recommend you to do just this. I have been a witness of quite a few people who tried out all of those other religions, and found nothing like the Living Life of Jesus, which is obtain by faith and faith alone. However, this does not mean that Christians are these weak little Jesus-nerds who walk around depending on a higher being which they don't see physically. I say physically, because the Bible says no one has seen God. But if you trust in Jesus who died on the cross and made such a big commotion around the world about his death through people called Apostles, you will see Him spiritually. Also, there is plenty of scientific evidence, which if not directly, then indirectly point to God's existence. After all, in order to conclude to all humanity that there is no God, one has to be all-knowing. I recommend you do the researching yourself to be convinced. If you want to know more about the basics of Christianity, read Gospel of John couple more times. From there, God will continue opening your eyes to the spiritual marvels, as he's doing to me, as well as the physical ones, if you continue by studying the historical validity of the old testament books. See ya.

well, you ill get alot of diverse answers on here. I was raised Catholic but as an adult, have grown to dispise the catholic church. It has nothign to do with my belief in God, that will always be, but I have a hard time accepting rules the church has "made up". I do, however, consider myself a Christian....not a born again, but I do believe in God with all my heart. To read that some people think once you die, that is it....that is just ridiculous. I believe life is MUCH more complex than our time here on Earth and we will live again forever with God. Some may say it is wishful thinking, but I say it is my faith. Life would be just too cruel to come to life, learn to love and create families, only to have it all be taken away in a blink of an eye w/o reason. I do not believe that. If you have a relationship with God, you need to confide in him you are confused and belive that he will guide you to the answers you are looking for.
And to Jen1981......here are some more facts on the bible you will like....."No one really knows how many copies of the Bible have been printed, sold, or distributed. The Bible Society’s attempt to calculate the number printed between 1816 and 1975 produced the figure of 2,458,000,000. A more recent survey, for the years up to 1992, put it closer to 6,000,000,000 in more than 2,000 languages and dialects. Whatever the precise figure, the Bible is by far the bestselling book of all time."
Not bad for a book 30% of the population "rejects" Do you have statistics like that to back up your belief?

Darlin - we are told that faith comes through hearing - and hearing by the Word of God.
It is very important when you find yourself questioning your faith to talk to a Bible teacher or Pastor about your questions and whenever you feel confused. A Christian mentor is deeply important.
I am going to ask you to please start spending a little time each day in the Word, because I know that this will feed your soul and help you with the answers you seek.
Please do not explore other religions without a Christian mentor to help you see what is true and what is false. It is too easy to be led astray when you are young in the world and in the faith. Satan would just LOVE to confuse you and cause you to fall.
We are called to be wise as serpents and meek as lambs... so knowing what other faiths teach may help you wittness to them... but again, don't do it without a mentor guiding you.
We are called to keep a watch on our hearts and minds. Please just heed that - and be VERY careful. Don't do anything without much prayer every day.
Shore up your faith with the word and fellowship of fellow Christians first, hon.
Peace. --De

I think I am very optimistic and enthusiastic because I made sure that Jesus Christ was the God I wanted to believe. Be very careful because you can open yourself up to demon possession very easily. Read the Koran. Read the Book of Mormon. The Lord revealed Himself to me, but to be able to speak with unbelievers I needed to know other faiths. Whoever told you that Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven told you the truth. As you read these other books you will know that the devil is involved in them. As far as Budda or Hinduism are concerned a fat bellied guy or believing cows are sacred. Also I'm not one with God and I'm not God and no matter of enlightment is going to get me there. I'm a child of God but not their god.
I honestly believe that every word in the Bible is truth. If man would test the religions by the accuracy of the religion's prophets, then man could know God by the accuracy. God said that He does nothing unless He tells His prophets first. I'll match the prophets of the Holy Bible against any prophets of any other religion. One of the main prophesies fulfilled is the Jewish people returning to their homeland after almost 2,000 years and speaking one language - Hebrew. This is fulfilled biblical prophesy. The Bible also taught they'd fly home on wings of eagles. If you were trying to describe an airplane 2,000 years ago, how would you describe it? The Jewish people are flying home on airplanes to Israel every day.
Stand fast in your belief in Jesus Christ. He is the way, the truth and the life and eternal life only comes by believing in Him.

On what do you base your faith? On the opinions of others? On what someone told you to believe? Or is it based on the person, Jesus Christ?
He said,"I am the way, the truth and life, no one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6)
Pretty plain and clear, isn't it? Was He mistaken? Was He lying? Or is He God, very God and pretty much knows what is the truth? If you are one of His, one of the Elect, you are His for eternity, no matter how "shaky" your faith may be. Faith in Christ comes from above, it is a gift of God. If you try to whip it up within yourself, it will be shaky. Test yourself to see if you be of the faith. Do you believe in the God of the Bible? Do you believe that Jesus, was and is God, came to earth, lived a perfect life, died for the sins of His people and rose again? Do you believe the Bible is inerrant in doctrine, ethics and history? Do you believe He is coming again to judge wicked and make things right? Only you can answer whether these truths are in you. If they are, you are eternally secure in salvation.

i may be very, very shocked. between the marvelous and unreported medical realities is that the earth is uniquely designed for existence, and that the probability that the different place in the universe is comparable suitable to existence is miniscule. See the two stunning books in this difficulty linked below. Now here is my question for you: If it have been got here upon that the earth is the only planet with existence in the universe, might you be moved to faith in the author who made this sort of fantastically crafted planet which you would be able to thrive and be happy? yet another question: Is the religion in different inhabited planets in keeping with medical learn or technological expertise fiction? I'm encouraged that you are looking for answers. Even the Bible says to "try" the word. Pray to God in the name of Jesus and ask Him to open your eyes and reveal His word to you. I recommend you join a Bible study group. You will be blessed two ways: you will have God's word explained to you and you will have fellowship with people your own age and of a like mind. The more you study the word, the more you will learn that every promise in the Bible is real.

I asked myself this question, too. What I noticed is that everybody truly believes that their religion is the true one whether they are Islamic, Jewish or Christian. They all tell me they believe on the basis of faith. If I am going to have faith in something there has to be reason. Frankly, I have no faith in something on the basis of nothing. If God gave us a brain I tend to think he would prefer if we use it. Good luck in your search.
