I did, b/c I knew I would want want to make sure I was in a good mood, it would be one less thing to deal with, you know? Plus, some women get a lot of acne around that time of the month, and I didn't want my wedding pics to have pimples everywhere! (And, you're right....the wedding night would be somewhat lonely if I were on my period.)
:o)
Here's an article I wrote that may help if you are planning a wedding right now....you may want to take a look!
Hope you have a happy day!

Edited to add:
I saw that someone said you're a weirdo, but I just want to say that you are not. There's nothing wrong with planning one of the biggest days of your life so that it is less stressful. And all of us women know that your period is stressful. Every woman should keep a record of when they have their period and be able to estimate what week of th emonth they will have it, even six months from now.
There are birth control pills (I think they are called 'low/orva' or something like that....) anyway, when you take this one type of birth control pill, you only have four periods every year, every three months. I bet every woman would love those! A woman's doctor would know exactly what I'm talking about, even though I don't know the name.

No. How would I know that 6+ months in advance. I was supposed to start on my wedding day. I called the doctor that had prescribed my birth control pill. He gave me a higher dose pill for 1 week and it postponed my period.

I'm getting married in September and I know I have my period every 28 days (on the pill) so I just counted on a calender so I wouldn't have to deal with the issue. People have told me I was weird, but I don't really care, all I care about is not dealing with the mess and hassle.

Yes... I'm getting married on 08/08 and I already plan on taking birth control to stop it. Who wants to be bothered with a period on their wedding day, you'll have plenty of other sh*t to stress over.

No, I think I was on my period when I got married... Don't remember. It's not like we were gonna do anything on the "wedding night" - we were too tired, and we'd done it plenty of times before.

I'm on the pill so I know that I only get my period Tues-Thurs, so I was all good for my Saturday wedding.

well, i'd image that since the couple is getting married, you have seen the gross stuff that comes with being a human. the blood, the puke, the sexual surections- i dont see why that should stop you, however, yeah i might take it into consideration for my honeymoon- wedding nights you'll be too tired anyway!

Actually, my brother and his wife are orthodox Jewish. Due to the rules they follow about "clean" and "unclean" times of the month, their wedding date had to be planned around her cycle.
The weird part is, we all knew it. And no matter how much I like my sister-in-law, I just don't want to know that much about her!
